Family Shower

Nov 9, 2010 by

Sunday night our sweet friends, the Abney’s and Monteforte’s hosted a family shower for us and Zachary! They were so thoughtful putting together a family cookout complete with a basket of gifts for our whole family! We also got some much needed diapers, wipes and some fun extras that will be just for Zachary when he comes. Mommy even got the special surprise of a gift certificate to my salon!

We didn’t take many pictures, and the ones we did are a little on the unflattering side, but I’m going to share them anyways :)

Our family, soon to be completely over taken by boys!

Thankful Thursday

Aug 12, 2010 by

Things I am thankful for today…in no particular order :-)

1. Two super sweet friends that successfully surprised me today with my current favorite thing….a Publix sub!

2. My in-laws pool, where we have spent many days the past few weeks swimming and completely exhausting the boys so they take GREAT naps!

3. The little clear part of the package on Tootsie Pops so I can make sure to get the bag with the least brown ones!

4. Airplanes, particularly the one that will take me and the boys to see my family in 10 days!

5. New bedding for Andrew, Joshua and baby boy that matches and means I get to start re-decorating!

DSC_6847

6. Two little boys that seem just as excited as their mama about the new bedding!

7. Our cousin Ally, we have been spending a lot of great time with her and we love it!

8. Spencer. Daddy had to be out of town for 3 days this week and there’s nothing like a little absence to make you appreciate someone! We have the best daddy ever and are so glad he’s home safe!

S’mores on My Mind

Jun 29, 2010 by

That was the title of a Facebook message to some friends last week inviting them over for a night of food and fun!

I had originally thought that we could just grill hotdogs and then toast marshmallows on the grill, but Spencer disagreed. So Sunday afternoon he and two of the guys went on the hunt for a way to have a contained fire without having to dig a hole in the backyard. They arrived at our house with a big old trash barrel used for burning and piles of wood.

And another….

DSC_6104

This is Spencer attempting to toast a marshmallow….unfortunately our wood was wet from the rain that afternoon and it wasn’t as successful as we’d hoped. We were, however, successful in billowing smoke at our neighbors across the street…oops, sorry!

DSC_6106

So, we had broiled marshmallows :-)

DSC_6108

And they were wonderful!

DSC_6113

After enjoying our s’mores and chatting a little the girls proceeded to beat the guys in a round of Catch Phrase. Not wanting to lose so easily they challenged us to best out of three and we promptly beat them in the second game! I think it is safe to say that fun was had by all!

Hernando DeSoto Parade

Apr 26, 2010 by

Saturday night was the annual parade here in B-town. We have gone for the last five years – in 2006 when we were engaged, in 2007 as newlyweds, in 2008 with a brand new baby Andrew, in 2009 with a brand new baby Joshua and this year with two little boys who were interested to see what all the hub-bub was about!

We are glad to have friends who’s business is right on Cortez road with a place to park, go to the bathroom and save seats! haha

Andrew was the coolest dude at the parade!

Re-hydrating, waiting on the parade is hard work!

DSC_4128

Andrew would have been happy to watch the police and go home! haha

“Brydon, the parade’s comin’!”

Let the bead catching begin!

The boys were too interested in the parade to take a picture!

After about 45 minutes of craziness Andrew plopped down on the curb completely pooped! We left before the parade was over, but we had plenty of beads and lots of fun!

Birthday Bash

Mar 3, 2010 by

Yesterday I celebrated the big 2-4! I share my birthday with my father-in-law and cousin-in-law! March 1st is a popular day!

Saturday we celebrated with Spencer’s family. My mother-in-law made an awesome dinner, we had crabcakes for appetizers, steak, salad and potatoes for dinner and chocolate cake for dessert. Mmmm! I got cute new pajamas, flip flops and….shopping money! Woo hoo!

Here are some pictures from the night.

Yesterday, on my actual birthday I spent the day with some great friends, Erin and Jessica and their little ones, Payton and Easton. When I first came to Florida the first girl I connected with was Erin. She and her husband, Steve were friends with Spencer and Steve was the Student Ministries pastor at our church. My friendship with Erin comes so naturally, we can always just pick up where we left off. They moved away shortly after Spencer and I were married but luckily for me her parents still live in Florida and we always try to meet up when she comes for a visit! I met Jessica through Erin and she lives about halfway between me and Erin’s parents, so we met at her house! These are two beautiful women and I wish we all lived closer! You can check out Erin’s blog here and Jessica’s blog here!

We spent the morning letting our kids play and talking about anything and everything!

Andrew and Miss Payton on their first date! Ha!

Joshua wanted in on the action!

Today my friend, Mandy took me to lunch to celebrate. I didn’t get any pictures because we were wrestling 3 little monkeys the whole time! We ended up moving the party to her house because there was no way to sit and visit and keep all the boys entertained. We always chuckle at how much our lives have changed in the last couple years! She was so sweet to treat me to lunch and get me a cute new top and some pretty lip gloss!

DSC_2729

Spencer and I have yet to really celebrate, I think we might get to go out this Friday. But he did give me a sweet card and Beth Moore’s new book, So Long Insecurity. I mentioned that I wanted to read it and he picked up on my hints :-) I also got a new closet, but that’s a whole other post!

I had a wonderful birthday with lots of friends and family!
